Guess who’s now online??? We are!! After many years of it being a dream of David’s, Parkfoot Garage have just launched their new online store. Can you tell we’re just a little bit excited?
At the beginning of the Covid pandemic, Parkfoot realised a lot of its customers weren’t able to get into the store. David being David, couldn’t sit by and not help, so a dedicated team were put together to offer delivery and no contact collections from the store.
At the beginning there were some challenges. Trying to social distance staff and get the volume of orders out to people quickly was tricky at times but we managed. With no conventional online system, customers would email us a list of what they needed and then a staff member would go out onto the shop floor and pick from the items we had.
Every week we adapted to better procedures to make our processes easier and more efficient. Customers were becoming regulars and we enjoyed our distanced chats about what none of us had been up to and how many days we’d all been in lockdown.
Somewhere in between the beginning of the pandemic and now, it was decided that we would get a refrigerated van to do all our deliveries in. Our beautiful racing green van named Penelope can now be seen proudly on the streets delivering to the local community.
So, we had the van and the determination, but what we didn’t have was a proper online store. No problem! We found a brilliant company to help us put all that together. The challenge there was, we had to be able to link our online store with our physical store so the stock levels would be right and the prices would be accurate.
As we have an in store butcher, we also needed to be able to offer our customers the same bespoke and personalised service they would get if they were actually in the store online too. Every piece of meat is freshly prepared just before delivery or collection.
After 3 months in the making www.parkfoot.net/online is now live!! Almost everything you can get from our physical store is available to buy at our online shop.
We’ve been online for a few weeks now and customer feedback is great. We’re so proud of ALL our staff members for keeping the shop stocked up to enable us to offer this new online service.
