For the past decade, Parkfoot has sought to reduce its environmental impact in many ways, but none more so than recycling.
To help with this we have just installed a new and bigger compactor which allows us to send compacted bales of cardboard and plastic back to our suppliers. The new compactor speeds up the process and makes it easier for both for our staff and the suppliers, too.
Every day we produce 2 bales of cardboard and 1 bale of plastic material. This means no plastic or cardboard is being sent to the incinerator in Maidstone or to landfill – it can recycled and re-used.
Currently, all our general rubbish from bins on the forecourt is sorted and recycled – we remove plastic, paper, glass and cans for recycling.
Look out for our new plastic recycling bins on the forecourt where we invite customers to play a part in keep our oceans and land free of plastics and micro plastics and our skies free of greenhouse gases, by placing plastic rubbish in the recycling bin.
A clean environment keeps us all healthy!
